Restaining Floors
We stained our pine sub-floors with Jacobean Minwax and then polyurethan. The wear and tear is horrible and although we should probably lift the floors and put down new … we would like to avoid it for another 5 – 10 years. What options do we have? Can we sand and then restain/poly? Help.
Thermocrete
During our renovation in 2000 our fireplaces were relined and converted to wood burning … supposedly… in reality smoke permeates the house when ever we light a fire. So, now we want to make at least the parlor floor functional. We are leaning towards thermocrete since it is simple although a bit expensive. We are interested in insight from people who have done it, who did it (we have only been able to get 1 quote) and the cost. Thanks.
