Sprinklers Required When Changing CofO?

I am looking at building a 500sf extension for a 2-sty+attic 1500sf house. The current CofO lists it as a 2-family plus a vacant attic, and it will become a single family (including living space in the attic). Does anyone know whether this will require adding sprinklers?
