Earlier this week a man from the City Finance Dept knocked on my door, showed me his badge and said he was a Tax Assessor. Without asking me if I had time to chat (I didn’t), he started asking me tons of questions about our recent renovation including details about what kind of work we did, how much it cost us, etc. I need to call him back today, but I’m wondering how much information I need to give this guy. Doesn’t the DOB have our blueprints already so Finance can just look up the type of work we did? How cooperative am I required to be, and how detailed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I haven’t been through this process before. Thanks!
