Joint Compound Off Grout?

Following the painting and skim coating of the walls and ceiling in my bath, a white film/substance remains on the ceramic time floor, and ground in places. At first I thought the substance was white latex paint (of which there is some anyway), but what I’m talking about is more likely joint compound/skim coat since the “white,” when wet, is no longer visible.

Problem is, the skim coat doesn’t mop or sponge off; and it didn’t come off when I tried applying some citrus paint stripper.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking of trying one of scrubbing the floor with one of those abrasive pads, but….?

Thanks!
