I’m a long time reader of Brownstoner, and found the forum to be a great resource when I did some renovations on my apartment in Prospect Heights a couple years ago. I have a recommendation to share, lo these many years!

Last week I had a problem with my toilet tank and in looking through past forum entries, I found a recommendation for Steve at The Tinker’s Wagon.

I can’t say enough great things about my interactions with Steve; he spoke with me on the phone several times, asking about the problem, looking up my toilet online while we were talking, recommending solutions that would save me the cost of his visit, and offering to rework his already full schedule to accomodate my slightly wacky weekend schedule. In the end, his advice did save me the cost of a visit– I was able to fix the problem myself– but he was so kind and helpful, that I will be calling him anytime I need someone to come in for other projects in my apartment.
