Source for Plants in Bulk?

hi brownstoners – i am wondering if anyone has a good source in NYC, LI or NJ (other than HD or Lowe’s) for inexpensive plants in bulk. we are looking for your standard brooklyn backyard shade plants and flowers. we’re not looking for super-high quality or variety – just something we can use to pretty up our disaster area of a backyard until we have a real budget. thanks!
