synlawn or similar?

Anyone have any experience with these new LEED-certified artificial grass products? We have 2 8′x10′ sections of a shady rowhouse backyard that I’d like to grow grass but I don’t think it will work, given the shade and the 2 little kids that will abuse it. Considering this stuff as an alternative to give the kids a place to roll around outside…but I tend to be wary of artificial anything. Seems to have a bit of a following in NYC, this stuff, and it doesn’t need water, which I like. Anybody have a comment?
