Hi,

If I rent an apartment (in manhattan for example.. not sure if that matters) and I want to sublet it to another person- for example: I fly for an extended vacation. then will it be legal?

more questions in this regard-

2. I need the landlord approvel, that I know. But if he mentions on the lease that he agrees for me to sublet it does it make it legal?
3. Is there a length of time by which it is not considered a sublet. lets say I go for 6 months and I want to sublet it?
4. If the contract says- you can sublet. then do I need to inform him of the duration or it doesnt matter because he allowd for subletting?
