My wife and I are going crazy trying to figure out something as simple as what type of 3″ recessed lighting we should pick for our renovation.

The prices on the lights/housing seem to run the gamut from as low as $50 to as high as $300.

Any thoughts as between going with something like europhase, versus using a higher end type recessed light from lightolier or from US illuminations?

We just can’t get our arms around what really is the difference. Frankly given the number we were considering of low voltage recessed, just seems like getting cheaper is better – what can really be the difference with the light source is a same halogen 50w?
