I want to know what can be done about the falling-down brownstones in CObble Hill, especially the one on the corner of Henry and Congress and the adjoining carriage house. There’s no doubt that it’s a dangerous situation and after some digging, I discoveered that the owner purchased the property in 2001, put up that ugly scaffolding and has since done nothing.

What can I or we as a community do to force this jerk to do something before the building collapses or to sell it to someone who will?

I assume that it’s landmarked — would perhaps enough complaints to them force some sort of action?

I don’t want to come off as some sort of busy-body, but it’s really a shame to see such nice structures neglected. I should add that I was on a roof recently and the view from above is even worse — roof is collapsing…
