Extension on Top of House – recs

Has anyone put an extension on top of their house ? Any recommendations for architect/contractors would be appreciated (those who have done this in the past) . Also how much would it cost ? (We’re thinking that adding an extension would be cheaper than trying to find a 4 storey). thanks !
