Attorney suggestion needed
Our coop had some tax problems last year: Our building class and number of units was incorrect, leading to a huge increase in our tax rate. After, a lot of time and effort last summer, I was assured by the Dept of Finance that it had been fixed, and we received a decrease of $4000 in our taxes. However, our 2009 assessment is incorrect again. In addition, I believe that our taxes for last year were still way too high of an increase (I believe that there is supposed to be 6% cap on an increase).
I am looking for a lawyer to help us address this.
