Ocean Avenue

I am considering purchasing an apartment on Ocean Avenue (subway stop is Q/Park Side Ave). I love the building but was wondering about the neighborhood? Is it safe? I noticed the elem school the building’s zoned for is not good. Any insights would be really appreciated. thanks!
