Copper or galvanized for steam heat wet return?

I have some leaky underground pipes in my steam heating system. I’m planning to replace them with copper pipes, because I’ve never worked with galvanized and it seems easier. However I read somewhere that the copper from the pipes could be corroded by the water, deposited in the boiler and destroy it. Is it true?
