Dealing With the DOB

I recently bought a 1 bedroom in a co-op and would like to perform some renovations on my own, the largest being removing an interior partition (non-load bearing) and removing plaster and lath to replace with drywall. The co-op has approved my wish to do the renovations on my own.

I have hired an architect to prepare the plans for the DOB. I’d like to save money by filing the plans myself and getting the work permits myself. Any suggestions on this? Anyone willing to help me with a bit of paperwork for a small fee?

Also, has anyone ever filed for the work permits when you’re a homeowner in a co-op? Are there any complications with this. Please feel free to email me at buzzybiziorek@hotmail.com with suggestions.

Thanks in advance for your help!
