Post Mount Gas Lamp

While laying bluestone on the front patio of my Brownstone, I decided to wire my lamp post for light. Well, to my surprise, the original gas line is still in tact and connected to my gas meter.

My questions are, Do I need to talk with con-ed, or the city to get a gas lamp running? What kind of post mount lamp do I need? Where do I get it? How much should it cost? How much would it cost per year to run? Do they run ALL YEAR LONG??

Anyone with info would be greatly appreciated.
