help in understanding co-brokering?

Hi,
I just started going to open houses and an agent at a large firm offered to show me other listings at her firm and at some other firms she co-brokes with. Would going through her (vs. going directly through the listing agent) put me at a disadvantage of any kind? In other words, if I present an offer through her for a listing represented by another firm, will that make the offer less appealing in some way because of the need to split commissions? Sorry if this question reeks of ignorance. I just want to understand the pros and cons here…
