Stripping paint from wood doors and window frames?

I read in an earlier post that someone did their own stripping of the wood on window frames and cabinets, etc. Can a novice DIY person handle this? Any good resources out there on how to do this? I’d be attempting this in 2 bedroom co-op with 14 windows. Not as daunting as a brownstone but still a lot of windowframes to strip. Any advice is very appreciated!
