I need to strip the paint off of my stoop, which was painted brown in an enamel paint by the previous owners – I think to make it look nice to sell. It is a horribly dangerous set of stairs because of the paint, which had no sand or grit added to it, and both my 11 year old daughter and I have fallen down the steps when it rained and the steps turned slippery like ice. I fear the re-brownstoning the steps will be very expensive, but i dont think paint, even with grit added, is a very safe alternative. Any thoughts welcome, and also, a reputable person to do the work – a steps specialist??
