sorry about that…

There is a young oak tree sprouting up inside the hedge row on the property line between my neighbor and I. It is on his side but only by a couple of inches. While it is on his side now, when the tree gets bigger it will eventually move over to my property. He does not want me to cut it down. I explained to him that it is an oak tree and it will become very large and it is not a good idea to have a tree like that planted so close to our houses. He still will not budge. All I can think about are the expensive problems that will arise in the coming years as this tree get bigger. (Not to mention the additional leaves and loss of sunlight for my garden.)Are there any regulations concerning this type of thing?
