Currently researching appliances for my kitchen.
Looking at Wolf cooker/oven, Liebherr refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher,Zephyer fan/extractorhood.
Would appreciate any advise on the best places to go in Brooklyn. I’m assuming Manhattan stores are not worth the trip as they usually carry inflated prices. Thanks!

Recommendations for Deck Builder
Upon everyone’s recommendations on this site, I just called Vinny’s and he told me to “look in the yellow pages” for someone closer to me (I live in Greenpoint) So, does anyone know of anyone else reliable? I am looking to have a steel deck built this spring.

Bathroom repairs
I have a newish stall shower that appears to be leaking into the drywall causing puckering and dampness, and the grout between tiles is beginning to crack and separate around the shower door.
Could anyone recommend a reliable contractor who could repair this?

How to Change Tax Class
I guess being bogged down in renovations has more than the immediate construction costs. I’ve just woken up to the fact that I’ve spent the last five years paying taxes for a multi-family property (8 units, according to the finance dept.) while living in a three-family. I’m getting the runaround from the city, bouncing between the registry and the finance folks… trying to explain I don’t care if I’ve missed the March 15th deadline, I just want it changed.
What’s the straight answer on this? How do you change your building class?

looking to insulate my roof
The heating bills for 2-family townhouse have been quite high this winter, because we have to crank the furnace so the upstairs apartment gets heat. One of the heating specialists we had in suggested that we get our roof insulated, as most heat is lost thru the roof. When we bought the house in July we had the roof resurfaced, but we didn’t think to insulate at the time (and the roofers and contractor never suggested it). It is a hundred year old, brownstone-type house with no attic. I have heard bad things about the blown-in insulation. Has anyone had the roof of their brownstone insulated. Can anyone recommend a company to do this? Many thanks!

House and Lot
I’m considering purchasing a property consisting of a family house and adjacent lot. The house and lot are listed as a single tax lot on the tax map but two zoning lots on the zoning map. Does anyone no the difference between a tax lot and a zoning lot. What are the implications of having two zoning lots and one tax lot.

Clothes Dryer
Any advice out there on buying a clothes dryer? (I already own a washer.) Are there any advantages/disadvantages of gas vs electric? What about venting? Does the dryer have to vent to the outside? I haven’t yet decided whether to locate the dryer in the cellar or in the laundry room/closet in the kitchen on the garden floor. Your thoughts much appreciated. Thanks!

I want to have a tankless hot water heater installed. My research as come up with $1500.00 installed. Is this correct? And does anyone have a recommendation as to an installer? Is there a better alternative? Many thanks
