We recently moved into a prewar limestone with this lovely mirror built-in. Unfortunately, it seems to be inextricably linked to a (modern) shiny lamp fixture. I hate it. But if we take it out, it’ll leave a big hole in the mirror. And since this is the only lamp in the hallway, and since we don’t have the money to spend on an electrician for this, I’m hesitant to lose the light. Any suggestions on what we could do (replace the mirror and just deal with losing the light? replace lamp with something less gaudy?) would be very much appreciated.
