We recently moved into a brownstone in Carrol Gardens. The basement has a dirt floor, which prevents us from using it for storage — everything gets covered with fine dust. We would like to lay a concrete floor, but are first considering digging down a foot or so to gain extra height. Does anyone have any idea of cost for digging out a 600 sq/ft section of the basement and laying concrete. Also any recomendations for a decent contractor to do the work. Thanks in advance.
