The laundromat at Atlantic Avenue and Nevins in Boerum Hill has been reduced to rubble, although its parking lot has not yet been touched. As readers may recall, noted Brooklyn architect Morris Adjmi is designing a mixed-use building here at 472 Atlantic Avenue.

We think it will be a big improvement for this suburban strip mall-style corner, as we’ve said before. Click through to see more photos of the corner.

  1. interesting, there are also another laundry closed on 3rd ave between St’ Marks and Warren last week (now only one bodega and Jehovah’s witness left open on the block) and on 4th ave @Baltic. in last year. I don’t know laundry situation of west side of Boerum hill, but I assume laundry business is no longer able to survive in this area..

  2. “suburban strip mall” isn’t quite how I would describe the place. They famously sold crack here. On the upside, you could play Pac-man while you waited for your vial (or laundry).
