stepping up the pace

we actually don't have too much new framing that has to be done to the original house,
except for the top floor
while we are keeping the same basic configuration of rooms
walls needed to come down to proportion them better.

framing out the ceiling for the master bath

framing the master bedroom & dressing room

we did end up taking out {gasp} the fireplace in the master bedroom
it was the only way to have enough room to orient the bed to face the garden
and have end tables

Looking Good. I like how you are really making the house work for you. How come it's part wood framing and part metal framing.
Keep the great pics coming.

i believe the architect called for metal through out
but our contractor
who is also a sculptor
and very aware of mass & loads
in certain situations, prefers wood
i know that part of it is because the house is old
and that he feels that where a wall is load bearing, he can shim & get a tighter fit

Wow! You guys are really making great progress. It must be a huge lift - but documenting your process/success really gives me hope. Thanks for taking the time to post!
