Closing Bell: 'Domestic Labor' Dinner in Wburg

last%20supper%2008.jpg
The Last Supper festival is holding a fundraiser in Williamsburg this Saturday that will involve a four-course meal and non-edible sides like film screenings, followed by a dance party. The festival, which actually takes place in September, is in its fifth year (that's a shot of part of last year's proceedings above); in the organization's own words, "the Last Supper is a multimedia, project-based collaborative festival that addresses the act of consumption," and this time around the fiesta will include local luminaries such as the folks behind the Greenpoint rooftop farm. The fundraiser this weekend will feature a menu set to involve things like rhubarb honey vodka and butter beans with bacon and rosemary with ingredients culled from local farmers. The evening has been dubbed a "Domestic Labor Dinner" as the menu is said to be "inspired by the Food Files and Films of the WPA" and will include screenings of those movies. If that sounds like your idea of a good time, tix are $45 for the whole shebang, or $10 for just the dance party.
