It appears that wheels are in motion to redesign Thomas Greene Playground, the shabby public park on 3rd Avenue between Douglass and Degraw. According to signs posted near the playground (click through to see a copy), there’s going to be a meeting tomorrow night about revamping the space sometimes referred to as the “Double D.” The plans sound ambitious: There will be discussion about putting in a new pool, installing a long-rumored skate park, adding more greenery, and building a “year-round multi-purpose building containing a comfort station & community spaces with a green roof.” More info about the meeting, funding sources, and plans here.
