Green Desk Model Goes Retail

Green Desk started offering short-term office space at 155 Water Street in Dumbo in 2008 and expanded last year to 68 Jay Street, also in Dumbo. Now the company's owner, which also happens to be one of the two large landlords in the neighborhood, has converted the former Prague Kolektiv retail space at 143 Front Street into something called Shops @ Green Desk. As we understand it, the idea is to combine short-term office space with some retail exposure. We don't really understand if it's supposed to end up feeling more like a mini mall or a work environment, but time will tell.
