Booze-plex Brewing on 4th Avenue and Carroll
The former Cattyshack space on 4th Avenue will be born again as a new bar, according to workers who have started fixing the place up. The business doesn't yet have a name, they said, and they also seemed pretty positive that it won't once again be a lesbian bar. It's scheduled to open in January. Meanwhile, Mission Dolores, the Bar Great Harry spinoff that'll share a building with this new place, is also still in-progress.

maybe if it was a FRIENDLY lesbian bar that would be one thing. but i for one will not miss them! lol.

yep! and they wouldnt give it back! when i whined for it back i essentially got body slammed out onto the concrete! if the whole situation wasnt so absurdly funny, i guess id be upset. but it was a collector's item!

Barbie's an alcoholic. She just can't lay off the sauce. How else do you think she wound up with a boyfriend (Ken) with a smooth plastic mound instead of real boy bits? It's a shame, really.

it was a peace offering to someone who worked there. we had a previous altercation and she told me never to come back! i think she thought i was hitting on one of the woman she was trying to mack on. clearly i wasnt. when i went back to give the peace offering she took my doll (for which i thought id be allowed back in! i had a friend waiting inside upstairs) but she kept the doll and was all like oh yeah the doll is mine now but you still cant come in). i was like well my friend is up there and she's not answering her phone so i just basically waltzed on in and she was NOT have any of that. i have no recollection of anything after hitting the pavement.

well it's a huge space inside and a natural division between the two i think.. landlord is probably making more money renting to two separate bars than one maybe. they should make one side for the lesbians and one side for the gays and let the drama begin! jello wrestling matches on the deck!
