Good Morning,
No link to an article on the election results? Did people get out and vote yesterday?

I was thinking the same thing! I was amazed by how close the election was. I must confess I almost didn't vote since everything I heard made it sound like Bloomberg was a slam dunk. In the end, I voted for Thompson (largely due to his endorsements among public school community, as well as his proven record of good fiscal stewardship as a great comptroller, plus my frustration with Bloomberg's policies towards schools, developers and term limits - this despite the fact I was a former Bloomberg supporter), but only when prodded to do so. I wonder how many other people abstained and could have tipped the balance...

I the abstentions would have tipped the balance far more towards Bloomberg. they figured he had it in the bag so why bother showing up.

I was very disappointed with Al Vann getting reelected.

The abstentions clearly helped Bloomberg. The man spent $100M to buy his reelection and ended up only squeaking by? Shame on those who say they want change but then abdicate responsibility for making that happen by failing to vote.

my abstention (and my husband's) helped Thompson.

Extended tax credit issue versus "recovery" pumping. What a contradiction.

Two dummies in BMW incident.

AY's gettin' built. Go Brooklyn Nets!

Careful driving, guys.

Any explanations for the 1-hour-long 49/48 percent breakdown midway through the precinct reporting, Tweedberg and Thompson respectively?

From said Daily News article re: Atlantic Yards:

Forest City spokesman Joe DePlasco said Atlantic Yards was "not included in the application" and "is not eligible for this money."

Every for-profit corporation knows that eventually in order to survive it must drop certain money-losing projects, however cherished they may once have been -- perhaps even Bruce Ratner's brothers have had enough of his money-wasting, boondoggling ways?
