Let that be a lesson. Swaying the LPC is easy as tinkling the keys and swelling millions of units.

Oh, well that explains the delays this morning. Yikes.

Here's an interesting tidbit from NY1:

State Labor Dept. Finds Park Slope Restaurants Underpaid Workers

The State Labor Department released a report today that says 25 Brooklyn restaurants and cafes owe at least $910,000 in unpaid wages to more than 200 workers.

State inspections of Park Slope restaurants during the spring found that some workers made as little as $2.75 an hour, which is far below the state minimum wage of $7.25...

The following restaurants are negotiating a resolution for payment:

Aunt Suzie's Restaurant
Bagel World
Bogota Latin Bistro
Coco Roco
Joe's Pizza
Marcho Corp's Cholita
Olive Vine Cafe (two locations)
Rachel's Taqueria
Sette
Song
Taqueria
Uncle Moe's

The following restaurants have made full or partial payments:

Baluchi's
Mezcali's Mexican (three locations)
Miriam Restaurant
Mr. Wonton
Nana Restaurant
Red Hot Szechuan
Slim Lamb "Miracle Grill"
Sotto Voce
Sweet Melissa Park Slope

Let that be lesson. Certain applications to LPC are approvable at the staff level and applicants are well-served by hiring architects (and other consultants, as necessary) that understand the law and the process. Seems like some people in "the community" might want or need to (re-)familiarize themselves with the law and the process as well.

i thought minimum wage being a restaurant worker or bartender was like 2 bux an hour? and then you work on tips? ar eyou talking about people who work doing dishes? then yeah, it's all screwed up. if you are a legal citizen and apply for a job washing dishes LOL on you thinking you can get minimum wage. wrong! restaurants will hire an illegal person to do it for 2 bux and hour and never call in sick or roll their eyes at you.

i would LOVE a 5 hour a week job part time washing dishes, im pretty good at it.. but oh hells no, i'd never be hired :-/ oh well, maybe they think id roll my eyes too much.
