Martha's Brooklyn Show Wrap

We just got back from the live taping of today's Martha Stewart Show which was all about Brooklyn food and The Flea. You weren't allowed to take photos during filming and there was no cell coverage so we couldn't live-blog it, but here are a couple of shots between takes, including one of the big Brooklyn map they had set up and one of us in the audience. We were told the episode will be online sometime today and will also be re-run at various points. There's an overview of the segments here.

LOL
I think all three of us live in the ghetto. My ghetto is more "ghetto" than your ghettos.

Now my post looks ridiculous with the other one taken down!!!!

is it normal for comments to be deleted on this site? the one in question was inflammatory obviously but i don't think it needed to be deleted. what's going on?

Only when they're posted by somebody who has been banned for repeated profanity, threats of violence and unauthorized self-promotion finds a way to worm his way back into the site...or for obvious reasons like hate speech or racism.
By daveinbedstuy on November 10, 2009 1:27 PM
Maybe you should delete all of the posts that deal with the unfortunate one that was deleted. :)

That's it -Brooklyn is officially over.

Move to Brooklyn, ye heartland viewers of Martha-dom! Greenwood Heights, Crown Heights, Bed Stuy are all good.

Ever been to a live taping before Mr. B? You look cool as a cucumber.

And I meant about the show; not the deleted posts.
Are you going to link to the show when it's available?

Martha Stewrat Living (MSO) is up 105.58% YTD, better than gold and the S&P 500.

"Now my post looks ridiculous with the other one taken down!!!!"
As opposed to all your other posts? ;-)

And btw, congrats Mr.B. This is great exposure. Pay no attention to the haters.

Congrats, Mr. B--you and the Flea come off great.
My only beef with the show is the focus on the
Diner/Marlow & Sons empire--why are they always the THE place featured when someone's doing a piece on Brooklyn food and restaurants? It's getting really boring, especially since Diner isn't nearly as good as it used to be.
By dirty_hipster on November 10, 2009 5:46 PM
Cuz Diner is the best - DUH
By miss priss on November 10, 2009 6:10 PM
none of the other brooklyn restaurants, including dressler, al di la, frankies, et, etc, etc. are anywhere near as good as diner and marlow. I realize that comes off as a big claim, but i have tried all the others and I keep on coming back to those two. fresh food, great combos, fantastic music, decor, vibe, great ownership. The other places just don't hit all those high notes at once and these guys do. We went to al di la for the first time recently, berating ourselves for always heading over to williamsburg to go to diner, and it was fine, but it just wasn't as good. (by the way, all of the above applies to manhattan as well...)
By tinarina on November 10, 2009 7:13 PM
But DH and MP--do you really think Diner is as good as it was a few years back? Seems like it's slipped a bit. Just curious.
By mopar on November 10, 2009 7:33 PM
I don't like Diner. I prefer Northeast Kingdom and El Almacen. I used to love Dumont, but it has really gone downhill.
By diors on November 10, 2009 8:33 PM
Great job Mr B and Senor! Not so long ago, it would have been unimaginable to think that Brooklyn would one day be to NYC as the Left Bank is to Paris. Viva La Flea!
By tinarina on November 10, 2009 8:37 PM
Totally agree on Dumont, mopar. I need to check out El Almacen.

Congrats on your success! I watched, it was a nice show. Love the Martha Stewart show...still use my HP camera from her Thanksgiving giveaway with Patti Labelle!
