Taste over 100 international wines paired with cheese, charcuterie, and hors d’oeuvres. VIPs take a wine-tasting class and get “priorty access” to the wines. A local DJ will provide musical ambiance, with special surprises. Please help support Fort Greene Park. Monday, October 5. 6 p.m. General admission is $80 in advance or $90 at the door; $150 for VIP access. 85 South Oxford Street, Irondale Center.

76th Precinct Community Council

Come join community members for a meeting for the 76th Precinct Community Council. The Council will provide transportation to and from the Justice Center from the 76th Precinct Station House for those that require it. All are invited to attend. Tuesday, October 6. 7:30 p.m. 88-94 Visitation Place, Red Hook Justice Center.

Barnyard Bonanza
Join Aggie the cow and her barnyard companions for a day of fun on the farm. This event is suitable for children ages 3 - 6. Wednesday, October 7. 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Members $15. Non-members $20. Prospect Park Zoo.

"1969"
Adult Education is a Brooklyn-based monthly lecture series devoted to making useless knowledge somewhat less useless. In October, Adult Education welcomes a panel of presenters to speak on the theme of "1969." Join comedians and writers, Charles Star, Emily Flake, Jim Hanas, Theodore Bouloukos, Jill Stoddard in a show sure to make you think about the year 1969. Wednesday, October 7. Doors at 7:30 p.m. Event at 8 p.m. 702 Union Street, Union Hall.

NADA Art Gallery Opening
The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) and other local arts organizations have teamed up to create an art gallery in temporarily vacant storefronts in Downtown Brooklyn. Come and learn about educational programs and upcoming events free of charge for the public. Check out the contemporary artwork on display by local artists Rachel Owens, Mike Womack, Marco Boggio Sella, and more! Wednesday, October 7. 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. 395 Flatbush Avenue.

Party on Governors Island
All are invited to a party at Water Taxi Beach on Governors Island, hosted by the Governors Island Alliance and the New York Harbor School honoring their arts, programming and cultural partners in the Water Taxi Beach project. There will be music for entertainment and food for all. Thursday, October 8. 5:30 .m. - 8 p.m. $25 (includes a free drink and ferry to Govenors Island). Govenors Island.

Just so there's no confusion - The NADA gallery opening is at 395 Flatbush Ave Extension (between Fulton and DeKalb, NOT 395 Flatbush Ave.

Geez Rob, it's a fundraiser, and pretty reasonably priced compared to most. The bulk of the money goes to the park, not to food and drink.

Rob, I think the term "charcuterie" relates to some type of pork butchery. Go figure :-) I appreciate your comedy btw, whenever I can read some threads.
