StreetLevel: Store for Dudes Opens in the Slope

hog%20mountain%2010-2009.jpg
Hog Mountain, the "general store for men," opened a few days ago on 5th Avenue near the corner of Sackett. The shop stocks a lot of clothing (mostly outerwear and jeans) as well as a smattering of toiletries and hardware.

Absolutely amazing. I didn't want to come home. :)

Posted by: 11217 at October 20, 2009 2:24 PM

eek! i am trying very hard not to comment on the name of this new place.

Posted by: bowl of dicks at October 20, 2009 2:25 PM

No, I never travel sadly.

Posted by: infinitejester at October 20, 2009 2:27 PM

Wait, this place is in New York?

Posted by: woodys at October 20, 2009 2:28 PM

is this supposed to be ironic? cuz most of the men ive seen walking around the slope are totally whipped and kinda on the femmey side. (mostly the straight fathers actually lol)

That's why they'll want to shop here - to establish their manly-man bona fides through consumerism. Pretty sad, actually.

im way more scared of the stroller pushers than anyone else in park slope. not so much for violent confrontation.. just about any interaction with them seems deadly.

Does this place sell snow tires for strollers?

Not to early to think about winterizing...

I need some .270 Winchester, going elk hunting next week. Gonna be in bear country too so I'll be needing some .44 magnum for my carry gun. Can someone living close by let me know if they have these things? Trying to buy my hunting needs in the hood and be a locavore and all that.

Real men don't shop.

They seem to have a nice little following of supporters on facebook. I'm into the idea of a place in the hood to find jeans and maybe some boots. The toiletries aspect is also interesting as I don't use the crap they sell at Duane Reade/Rite Aid etc.

high mainteneance much? hahah. this store will probably do well. there's so many stores that seem to just cater to girls in the area, so one just for boys could do well

There's an attache at Razor I've been meaning to pick up. I need a proper briefcase-type bag as I am getting rather busy with mgmt & my board & such.

Looks promising - they have football on the TV

Good point, DH.

If the clothing shop fails they can always reopen - with the same name and decor intact - as a gay bar for the bear community.

Heard about this place and decided to check it out on Saturday. Woah, totally packed! Guess they've been waiting for a "dude" store out in the Slope. Bought some 501s ( o.k. sexiest jean EVER on a guy ) and a cashmere sweater for my boyfriend. Worth the walk from Carroll Gardens.
