StreetLevel: Black Horse Pub Finally Opens
Back in May, the owners of the Black Horse Pub, the new bar on 16th Street and 5th Avenue, said it was supposed to open "within the month." That didn't happen, but the watering hole is at last opening tonight. Black Horse will have 16 beers on tap and its website says the menu will include stuff like a full English breakfast.

Possibly, wasder, although I expect this to go a bit more young and posh than a comfy hangout for middle aged dads. 5th Ave in So Slo/Greenwood is great for a pub crawl. Commonwealth, Buttermilk, Sidecar, this place, Ellis, a few others. However, I understand this will be English-style, not truly, truly English. No dogs allowed and they will be spraying the beer out of a tap just like every other American bar, not pulling back a big walnut handle and letting gravity do the work of filling your pint. Still, a nice addition.

Slopey, you are NOT middle-aged, and neither is wasder, because I am NOT middle-aged. Count me in if you ever want to do a Greenwood Heights pub crawl!

CG, you sound like my grandmother. She used to lie about her age and everyone else's (you can't be sixty because that would make me ninety-one" she once told my mother). We knew senility was setting in when she started telling the truth about her age -- she had forgotten that she lied about it.

Walked by last night about 9pm -- it was packed to the gills. I'm talking spillover on the sidewalk, people everywhere. Anyone check it out? If so, how was it?!
