Closing Bell: Fulton BID in Action!

This must be their first day in action, because two readers sent in photos of Fulton BID employees doing their best to up the quality of life along the somewhat beleaguered commercial strip. Second photo on the jump. Good stuff!

They used to have this on Smith St for awhile. It really helped. But I guess the business people didn't think so.
Or customers to bars and restaurants don't care how dirty the street is.

Wow! Hope they can keep it up. Would be really good if the BID could show some fairly immediate benefits so everybody gets behind it.

Putting people to work and doing real stuff right away. That's not bad a bad start at all!

Aside from the businesses opening up on Fulton St from Vanderbilt to Cambridge, this is another improvement on a rather busy but bleek looking stretch of the Hill.

Smith had it when it needed it, once owners take pride and understand the value of clean-up themselves, you don't need BID. Park Slope is spotless for a reason. When Uncle Sam has to get involved, you're in bad shape (Libs take note). Fulton needs it and I'm glad they're getting it. Good job.

why do people get a thrill out of these pics? i'd rather see pics of people throwing away or cleaning up they're own garbage.
