Closing Bell: Columbus Was Really Into Flea Markets

Well, that might be a stretch. But if he were to dock at Fulton Ferry Landing this Sunday, he'd have a hard time not visiting The Flea under the Brooklyn Bridge, picking up some jewely for Mrs. C, a little deck furniture for the Santa Maria and perhaps a few lobster rolls or pupusas for the crew. He might not be able to see Saturday's Flea in Fort Greene from the poop deck, but he could always just hop on the C Train. In addition to some new mid-century dealers (and others—see the full list here), the big news at The Flea is the inaugural weekend of the new Design Co-op in Fort Greene. Featuring such hot-shot designers as Lena Corwin, Lotta Jansdotter and Moontree Letterpress (among others) and housed under one large tent, the Co-op should be a real treat! The Brooklyn Flea is held on Saturdays from 10 to 5 at the Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Fort Greene (176 Lafayette Avenue between Clermont and Vanderbilt Avenues; take the C or G trains to Clinton-Washington) and on Sundays from 11-6 in Dumbo underneath the Brooklyn Bridge at the corner of Water and New Dock Street.
