Closing Bell: Another Curbside Memorial

vanderbilt-memorial-1009.jpg
On the way to the office this morning we pedaled past this small memorial in front of 97B Vanderbilt Avenue, site of last evening's shooting. As The Local reported, a 28-year-old man who lived there was shot by a 20-year-old man who fled the scene. As of earlier today, he had not been apprehended.

"we pedaled past this small memorial in front of 97B Vanderbilt Avenue"

PLEASE STOP... We didn't pass a small memorial. I mean really, how many people fit on your bike? The correct grammer on line or offline is "I passed a small memorial". Drop the we you sound like a 13 year old high school girl.

It's the royal we, which is appropriate for a blog author. The coorporate entity of "Brownstoner."

A man lost his life tragically and you loser are arguing about grammar? Pathetic...

Posted by: bedstuyhoya at October 20, 2009 5:02 PM

Thanks for showing up, hoya. Was wondering if you could still talk.

Posted by: infinitejester at October 20, 2009 5:10 PM

Really hoya? - I heard that it was an argument that led to the death, and the argument was about parking. If true - thats what is truly pathetic here.

Posted by: dittoburg at October 20, 2009 6:11 PM

So Dittoburg, if someone gets killed over a parking spot, it's not a tragedy???

bobbyj

your response is really wacky.
he could have been cycling with OTHER people in which case "we" is perfectly logical....it's distrubing that this is what bothers you.

Posted by: argentina at October 20, 2009 10:53 PM

The use of "we" is acceptable, yuppies and hipsters always travel in 3's.

Posted by: momo284 at October 21, 2009 10:49 AM

rf, not getting your logic. It is a tragedy, and it is pathetic.
