$500-$750K Range: SOUTH SLOPE

This is a 1,200-sf duplex in the Ansonia, according to StreetEasy. It was first listed for $885,000 in February. Closed on 9/17/09; deed recorded on 9/29/09.

$750K-$1 Million Range: WILLIAMSBURG

As we covered in April, this 2,300-sf house started out listed for $1,129,000 and was later reduced to $1,049,000. Entered into contract on 7/7/09; closed on 9/1/09; deed recorded on 9/28/09.

Forget where, but I read a wonderful piece about a guy living in the Ansonia. Oh yeah, it was "In the Country of Brooklyn", the anthology of short memoirs of the borough.

Anyway, the man described witnessing the neighborhood change and how his 3 bedroom has spiked in value so. Every time I walk by there I think of that.

wow - that ansonia court apt was a great deal. Love it! ahhh the good old days of decent renovations of old buildings....
