Streetlevel: 899 and 901 Fulton

fulton_090309.jpg
We poked our head into 901 Fulton in Clinton Hill (on the right in the image), where hammers were pounding and saws were buzzing. Christine, one of the owners, was inside working on the renovations for what will be Just Taste It, a fry and grill intended to "cater to the neighborhood." She mentioned dishes like grilled tilapia and avocado salad, and it did, in fact, sound tasty. Two doors down, on the other side of Bar Olivino, construction is also underway at 899 Fulton. No one was available to answer questions, but Christine has spoken to the owner, who plans to install a sports bar at the site. Just Taste It is shooting to open within two weeks. GMAP

I heard it was going to be soul food, at the place that used to be Fish and Crustaceans. The renovation does look nice!

"Just Taste It"? Really?

I laughed rather heartily when I saw "Fish and Crustaceans" painted on the window of the previous business. Does the word 'crustacean' really have anyone out there smacking their lips?
It appears that lightning has indeed stricken twice, because "Just Taste It" is the only name I can think of offhand that would make me laugh as hard at it's uninspired ridiculousness.

Regardless I wish them luck, and that grilled tilapia DOES indeed sound tasty.
