wtf is that photo of manhattan doing on this site?

Posted by: Santa at August 25, 2009 4:34 PM

I guess I am not a "cool" russian :o(.

I wouldn't live on Brighton or Sheepshead unless they paid me to live there.

Santa, I wondered the same thing. Is there nothing else available in the Stoner flickr pool?

"I wouldn't live on Brighton or Sheepshead unless they paid me to live there."

funny, I think the same of Kensington.

Agreed on the photo.

Why is a Manhattan photo on Brownstoner?

Lame. Maybe they thought it was 8th Avenue Park Slope?

Brownstoner goes on vacation and the kids take over.

quikazoid-

So lets see here...You start in Brooklyn and go to Chelsea to Walters.

Then you post the maplink between the 2 destinations? And its Brooklyn related how?

Seriously, I'm intrigued.

I grabbed a sandwich from the new Viet place for lunch yesterday. Made the mistake of asking for the 'spicy' one. A half pint of vanilla ice cream later, I was OK.

My fault not theirs of course. The sandwich was o/w excellent. Low budget decor but we wish them the best.

I feel that supporting the new vietnamese sandwich store is supporting stupidity. I don't necessarily care that they stole Hanco's recipes and what not, but how stupid do you have to be to see that Park Slope (if that's where you want to open) is a very large and long neighborhood. So they decided to open the store 3 blocks from Hanco's when they could have gone to 5th Avenue where there is no vietnamese or to the north slope on 7th where there is also no vietnamese...?

Ok, be my guest, but I personally think it shows how childish they are that they decided to open 3 blocks from Hanco's.

> supporting the new vietnamese sandwich store is supporting stupidity

Agreed. Open something different or open it further away.

It may be to both Vietnamese sandwich shops benefit to be near each other. Why do you think so many falafel shacks are on MacDougal Street and Bleeker, or so many Indian places are on 6th Street in the East Village?

It's a big city and a little competition is never a bad thing. It breeds character.

11217, I assume that you don't buy fish in the nabe? One on 6th Street, one on 3rd Street. Guy on 6th Street used to be on 1st Street. You're on a roll today...

Stealing recipes? Really, how hard is it to make a sandwich?

I heard Ray's Pizza stole the recipe for Lennys. Or vice versa.

Geez, it's capitalism. And it's only a sandwich. And none of these joints are in 11217 anyway.
