StreetLevel: New Lure in PLG

Although the Jim Mamary-backed BBQ joint in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Whiskey Sunday, opened a scant 8 months ago, the restaurant has already been re-imagined. This time: fish. A missive on the change came through from a PLG-er: "The owners of PLG's Whiskey Sunday officially refashioned the Bar-b-Que joint into 'Fly Fish' this weekend. The restaurant has been redecorated to give it a more dock-like aesthetic and has a seafood-based menu, but will keep some of its old BBQ favorites." Click through for a snap of the menu.

"mamary-backed" lol. i just spotted that outside before. that's when someone who is kinda on the large size wears too tight of a bra, causing massive back cleavage. im so glad i now know that proper term for that condition!

These guys are the ultimate in the "see what sticks" approach to restaurants. And what has stuck? Pacifico, pretty much. I don't like it.

"I can't wait to try this new menu."
Really? I mean, I'm sure I'll go there at some point and try it, but I can most definitely wait. Do you expect anything markedly better than their other restaurants?

This incarnation belongs to a restaurant genre that my family calls "Cap'n Jack's Seafood Shanty." I wonder if they will have nets and buoys on the walls. 'Live Bait' on 23d st in Manhattan is one avatar of the Extra-Funky Cap'n Division.

Conch chowder is rare up north; having a raw bar etc... floats my boat; fish and chips yeah!!

I enjoyed the billy sunday reference (but not because of the grateful dead).
However, I never understood what he had to do with bbq. It sounds like JM is just repackaging his Smith St restaurants until he finds something that sticks over here.
It seems fine to me.
