Greetings From The Big Island

If you've noticed fewer posts from us over the last day and half it's because we've been trying to be on vacation. We say "trying" because Northwest Airlines did its best to sabotage out trip to Hawaii for Mrs. B's best friend's wedding, but despite missed connections and lost luggage, we finally made it to the big island yesterday in time to enjoy this sunset with drink in hand. Don't worry, though, we've been wearing our Clinton Hill baseball hat with pride.

Oh, and a silver lining to the lost luggage thing...it will provide you with the perfect excuse should you choose to wear one of those notoriously hideous Hawaiian style shirts :) Aloha!

Tourism is crashing.
Japananese can't afford vacations.
California is BK.
Global warming will flood the island chain.
Watch out for the I beam(s).
Aloha State real estate has just begun its collapse.

DeLepp, how do you know about that name? It's an industry thing--
Here's another one: Continental=Constant Stressful.
And United=Untied.

So glad you didn't miss the wedding! That looks almost as pretty as a sunset over Red Hook!

dylan, to cash flow?
As for TWA I miss there L-1011s, it was like sitting in an a-frame house in the back/smoking section.

Don't think the natives give a f**k about your clinton hill cap....you're only a haole to them after all...
Posted by: young archi at August 25, 2009 4:06 PM
Thanks for a few good laughs today, DeLepp. Ugh, no, not their cash flow, though that's a great guess. Guess I should have spelled weeny differently....
Great memory about L-1011s and smoking sections. And everybody was all dressed up--

Big Island is great. My mother lives there, in Kialua-Kona. She's a doctor at Kona hospital.
Posted by: lechacal at August 25, 2009 5:22 PM
I was there for a wedding earlier this year and loved the Big Island. Be sure to check out the Kona Brewing Company if you're Kona-side for some good beer and food. Enjoy!
