20 Henry Street Gets Emergency Roof Repair

20-Henry-Roof-Work-0809.jpg
Last week, we noticed roofers at work at 20 Henry Street, the former Peaks Mason
Mints building in Brooklyn Heights, but couldn't figure out why they were there; after all, last we heard, the condo conversion project designed by H. Thomas O'Hara was frozen in April by lawsuits and a lack of money. The Brooklyn Eagle reports that a protective tarp used to cover a large hole in the roof, but that tarp "blew apart" in February, and rain has been pouring into the building ever since. A review of DOB filings reveals that the developer received permission on July 23 to perform emergency roof repair. GMAP
