StreetLevel: Tapas for 5th Ave

spVino%205th%20ave%2007-2009.jpg
The 5th Avenue storefront formerly occupied by the Turkish restaurant Zilli will soon be a tapas joint named spVino. (Incomprehensible banners have been in the windows for a couple months now, but the proprietors finally put up an awning that makes the place's name clear.) The restaurant is a spinoff of Dumbo's Pete's Downtown, according to Zagat. For those who are very excited about the opening, there's a Twitter page to follow. GMAP

Even with a name like that I'd still TAP(that)AS.

Tapas is Spanish for "$12 appetizer"

I'll pass.
