Streetlevel: Rebecca's Latin Cuisine Opens on Hoyt

rebeccas-latin-cuisine-0709.jpg
A new latin restaurant called Rebecca's Latin Cuisine opened a couple of weeks ago at 218 Hoyt Street; when we stopped in last week, the owner (whose name we doubt was Rebecca) told us that we was still making a few adjustments but that things were going well. Anyone grabbed a bite here yet? GMAP

Yeah what's up with mr b's new "no fun" policy. Was it really so bad when someone called someone else fat?

If Chaz Bono was in front of this place, the thread would get 300 posts.

c'mon Mr. B; No Brownstoner people would be caught dead eating food from a place across street from projects.
I mean.....most of them are afraid to even drive down the street.

"caught dead"
pun intended?

I was there yesterday. Es muy caliente y delicioso. That's Spanish for good things. Drink a lot of water though, because it's spicy, the way Latin food should be.

i really like the sign.

Posted by: bowl of dicks at July 14, 2009 2:55 PM

perhaps a pun...but nothing to do with the food.

Petebklyn is right. The food amazing and authentic but unless it arrives take out none of the people on this site will ever try it.

Posted by: boroughbred at July 14, 2009 5:46 PM

But someone on this site already tried it.

Being born and raised in bklyn and now in my mid 30's.
I say to the people that are not willing to try a place like this than you know what you are not a real new yorker and i don't want you as a fellow bklyn nite.
and what does the projects have to do with this don't forget judge Sotomayor came from the projects.
And don't JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER. And pete from bklyn i think you're STUPID just for saying something like that even though there is probably some truth to what you said.
P.S REAL NEW YORKER FOR REAL !!!!!

I love the old school styling. But what the heck is Latin cuisine - doesn't that cover about 30 countries?
