More Price Cuts at The Satori

As far as we can tell, the Satori at 342 Bond Street in Carroll Gardens is slightly more than 50-percent sold; Corcoran shows 18 units in contract and 16 available for purchase. Half of those remaining units got a little nudge in the right direction at the end of last week in the form of some low-single-digit sub-five-percent price cuts. Whether it will be a big enough gesture to gain traction with buyers in this market remains to be seen.

"Low single digit" price cuts? Like three dollars?

That's not Carroll Gardens.

It is Gowanus. And it is a hideous block unless they were half the price. They are small with "mezzanines" that should not count in total square feet.

Strange layouts and interiors/fixtures that already look a little dated. Really a bizarre out of place building.

I second the "hideous block" comment.
Chop away, my dear brokers, chop away.

was there a shortage at the window factory? Only pieces were left?

Half are sold? Who are those idiots?
Don't forget, the Satori is half a block from a soon-to-be superfund project.

I've always this was one of the most interesting new condo buildings to go up in Brooklyn. I wouldn't say the block is hideous, but it's certainly not th best in the area.
Anyway, I'm just glad one developer decided to do something a bit different.

I should mention that I actually do like the aesthetic of the building, but those prices are insane given the location.

I never, ever thought I would say this, but I agree with polemicist. But I've always liked this building- and the interior space looks beautiful.

ugly block. when the broker showed me the apartments i said the view isnt exactly nice.. her response was that the neighborhood was changing and new condos are going up a block away. c'mon.. the bond st view wont change for 15 years at this point.

I disagree this area is kinda cool as is....its just not worth anything near this price and it is only a matter of time before every unexplained illness is attributed to the canal. But again the block/area actually has a interesting vibe IMHO

At half the asking prices, Satori would be very cool for young singles and couples. But a poor investment the way it is.... No way these are appreciating for a long time.

Location is actually not the problem, it's the floorplans I can't wrap my head around.

I think i'll wait for the Superfund discount.

Geez, after these comments, I kinda feel like an idiot. I viewed the property and actually liked the ground floor one bedroom. It had alot of light and a small backyard. I'm a first time home buyer and I liked that it's so close to some great neighborhoods that I couldn't afford otherwise although I haven't ventured that one block over to the canal. I've been looking and have been unsucessful in finding anything in this price range that didn't require an investment in time and money to get it . The open houses were busy when i was there - can anyone give me an idea where to look for something comparable then? I'm just sick of throwing the same amount away on renting!

Has any one bought anything here? Has anyone done there walk though yet? The place happens to be in a great spot the Toll brothers are going to build Right on the canal. Bring prices up.

The floor plans are horrible. How do you clean the windows from the outside? The area is gritty, which depending on the person could be OK. But it really isnt one of the better blocks and I could care leass what any realtor would say.
