Fort Defiance Gets Liquid
Red Hook's newest watering hole can actually start watering now. Fort Defiance, the coffee-by-day-drinks-by-night spot from Pegu Club bartender St. John Frizell at 365 Van Brunt Street, just got its liquor license and will be celebrating with extended hours tonight, reports TimeOutNY and echoes TWCS. Any readers try this place yet? GMAP

Coffee there is great, along with breakfast items. Red Hook needs another good bar and eatery on Van Brunt, its easy to get tired of the few we've got already.

The coffee is the best I've had in a long time. Particularly the ice coffee, which is kick-ass strong and not the brown water you get at most places. And the muffelata is amazing.

Echo all the above. The coffee is amazing, the ambiance is great, and the food is delicious.
Great addition to the neighborhood.

Best coffee in the area, and the Banh Mi sandwich was very tasty.
