A Most Curious Fence

How weird is this new fence in front of 153 Vanderbilt Avenue? We didn't notice it until a few days ago—how long has it been there? Any backlash for the fact that it obscures part of the controversial mural of Benjamin O'Garro?

That's weird.

What the heck!? The odd thing is that it also seems to be fencing in multiple properties partially.

What I don't get is why it needs 3 doors...
Looks like a changing room or something.

Maybe its an art project? the top of the center gate matches the entry to the building. But weird- totally.

lol...What the hell is that? Why would someone build that?

Maybe they're trying to create a space for their kids to play?? So strange.

I think it's been there for a couple of weeks. It's totally weird. Maybe it's a place for their garbage cans? I wish it blocked that stupid mural completely..

The fence matches the mural, literally and figuratively.

I just walked by while walking my dog and I peeked in - looks like it is just a place to store garbage cans, or at least that's what's there now. Has anyone ever seen that shuttered building open? I can't remember what it is.

I like it. It's got all the charm of a log cabin doublewide - it's just so off that you just have to go with it.

Maybe its actually a trompe o'leil (sp?).

I'm pretty sure that the fence went up because people from the Checks Cashed place were messing with their garbage cans. Saw a line that I think will soon be connected to a video camera there.
Also think that both buildings have the same owner. Additionally, that closed up back part is used for storage by the liquor store on the corner.
