When's Der Schwarze Kölner Opening?

A couple weeks ago we were told by someone involved with Der Schwarze Kölner that the german-style beer garden in the former 7 Corners Hardware space at 710 Fulton Street in Fort Greene would open by "the end of the month." Well, here we are. The new signage is up. Anyone know when the doors open?

I saw folks drinking there on Sat. afternoon as I rode my bike down Fulton.

As in it was open to the public or more of a pre-launch friends-and-family situation?

It was a friends-and-family painting party. Someone said they're having their inspection in a week or two.

Yes I spoke with Dale the owner on Saturday afternoon and they were waiting for an inspection which should have happened a week ago and was postponed to this week by whichever authority!

There was definitely work happening in the space on Sunday. I chatted with the owner on Sunday and just like Bianca said, he's still waiting for some inspections and as a result he can't finish a few things (or, that's what I inferred). He hopes to open "very soon." I, for one, can't wait!

anyone have a better sense as to the outdoor space that makes this a beer garden? It must be tiny and surrounded on all sides, if it's inside where the former hardware storage was happening.
Or do they mean sidewalk seating will be set up?

He said interior garden (not suer how big) and sidewalk

i am excited about this place opening too, hope they make it before the July 4th so they get the business-
but, to get back to people's hardware store digression from an earlier thread (without getting into the meta-digression), i just want to throw out there that i've had good experiences with Sister's Hardware on Fulton @ Clinton Ave, for those that are looking for hardware and have had really bad times at HD like me.

I hope they don't mind adorable moppets.

I mind them...

Well, the restaurant appears to be named after Dale, one of the two partners, no? I guess the mystery has been solved: Der Schwarze Kölner! Very funny.
Anyway, the store/restaurant, has a small interior court. It's not terrible, just smallish, like a patio backyard of some types of townhomes/condos. I would assume they'll be able to have seating on the eastern side which has a deep sidewalk. I wonder if they'll be able to set up tables on the Fulton side.
I wonder what the residents upstairs are thinking of all this.

The neighbors upstairs have been wooed by Dale's charm and British accent. I think I speak for most of the building when I say we are excited for the opening and know that the music and fun will handled in good taste.
About the outdoor seating: there will be sidewalk seating and a small terrace out back both of which require permits. But the beer will define the place as a biergarten, not the "garden." Dale is a beer connoisseur and has taught us all a thing or two about AWESOME beer. Be excited. Be very excited, Fort Greene.
